I've tried new things in my lifetime, really I have. I'll admit that recently I haven't pushed myself too much Beyond the Pale (today's Daily Prompt), but there are things I've tried, completely out of my comfort zone, that I would do again and things I definitely will NOT do again. Case in point: A … Continue reading Beyond the Pale: Well Yeah, But Never Again!

It’s Movie Night
Who doesn't enjoy the movies? From the time I was young and the family would pile into the Chevy station wagon to head to the drive-in on a summer weekend night, I've loved seeing movies on the big screen. The Computer Who Wore Tennis Shoes, Herbie the Love Bug, Mary Poppins, all seen on the wide open … Continue reading It’s Movie Night
A Hot Cup of Liquid Love (The Chocolate Kind) and Good Book!
It's c..c...c..c...cold outside, I'm f...f...f...freezing! Days like the one we're having here in Rhode Island, were the norm for me when I was living in Vermont and New Hampshire. The wind whips though you as if all you're wearing is summer cotton dress, even though you're bundled up like the little brother in the popular holiday … Continue reading A Hot Cup of Liquid Love (The Chocolate Kind) and Good Book!

The weekly photo challenge is JOY, here is what came to my mind when I saw the challenge!
Comfort and Joy
Please enjoy my friend Martha’s wishes for the holidays (and enjoy her blog, too)!
If you celebrate Christmas, I wish you all the blessings this day holds.
If you don’t, I wish you peace and contentment.
And if you struggle with this time, as so many do, I wish you quiet moments. There is light in the darkness.

Not Your Average Pumpkin Bread – Holiday Recipe #5
This is another of my Mom's recipes (thanks, Mom) from back in the day, but we still make it...often. For many, many years it's been made as holiday gifts for teachers or neighbors. As far as I'm concerned it’s not the holidays without a few loaves of Harvest Bread. It's one of a few recipes I'll … Continue reading Not Your Average Pumpkin Bread – Holiday Recipe #5
Make it a Clam Alley Christmas
Hello readers and fans! I’m sharing this post with you from my brother-in-law’s blog. I’ve written about him before. He’s a talented artist and you might enjoy his work! Check it out!
The more time Paul spends writing blog posts and newsletters, or taking and uploading photos, is time NOT spent doing what is the most important part of Clam Alley Pots – that being making pottery. Besides, making pottery is something Paul is very good at, all that other stuff, well let’s just say it’s not his thing and leave it at that. Instead, it falls to me, his son. I’ll take care of all of that stuff so that he can spend more time wedging clay, throwing pots, glazing pots, and firing the kiln to produce beauties like these.
Now that December is upon us I know what you really want to know is where you can get your hands on some of that pottery to give as gifts to your favorite friend, family member, and bonsai enthusiast. If you’re in Rhode Island or southeast Massachusetts over the next two…

Touching Thankful
You may see this as a way of abdicating my daily post responsibilities. However, I’ve been reading this blog for quite some time; I share some of the same trials and tribulations, and I find reading today’s post, I share similarities in gratitude. Please read her blog!
Be thankful for what you have; you’ll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough ― Oprah Winfrey
With the passing of another New England Thanksgiving, I am looking back on a year of firsts and pleasures. I am looking back on a year of endings and tragic occurrences. I am looking back and I’m finding that I am appreciative this year.
I am thankful for my life, as it is and how it has been.
I am thankful for a husband who gives more than he could ever promise, for a warm puppy to cuddle with, and a brother who creates laughter in the darkest times. I am thankful for friends who push me to be silly, nephews who say all the right things, and nieces that appreciate dancing. I am thankful for a father who taught me to…
