That is, Before Steve, not the other B.S. you were probably thinking when you saw this title. My husband, Steve, would very much like to believe that I had no life (read: love life) before I met him. Sometimes he also likes to think when he shares a fun fact with me, like “Did you know that cats don’t like to have their paws touched?”, that it’s the first time I’ve ever heard it. The first few times he’d share something I played along, smiling or nodding with great interest. Now when he does it, I give him a look and he says “I’ve told you this before, haven’t I?” Then we laugh.

There was life B.S. I would have to say that for the most part, I actually enjoyed my on-line dating experiences. I met some nice men along the way, as well as more than a few frogs. Like some women, I too, did things or “liked” things to impress a guy I was interested in or dating. I even followed the New York Mets for a while–I know, I know, that’s crazy talk for someone whose lived their whole life in Red Sox Nation!

But no matter, it is with fondness that I remember the majority of life before marriage. If I had a bucket list, like so many people do, I believe I could cross off a few items thanks to these men B.S.:

• Riding a motorcycle
• Water skiing
• Contra dancing
• Gambling at a casino
• Camping outside with no tent
• Watching scary movies
• Attending a political fundraiser
I’d like to thank all those who came B.S. it’s certainly contributed to who I am today… looking forward to crossing off bucket list items with my husband, Steve.
