I’m tired, it’s late, and we’ve already set the clocks ahead one hour for daylight savings time to begin tomorrow. My commitment to writing every day is barely overshadowing my wish crawl into bed and sleep, so here goes.
We’re just back after a fantastic evening to celebrate the birthdays of my two older sisters, as well as mine. Our birthdays will come up on the 14th, 17th and 19th of this month and we’ve often celebrated together in one way or another. Tonight it was a combination St. Patrick’s Day/St. Joseph’s Day dinner hosted
at Mom and Andy’s (Thank You #1). It was a lovely table of shamrock-ed plates, bowls, serving dishes filled with a traditional corned beef and cabbage dinner perfectly and lovingly made by my Auntie Tina (Thank You #2), followed by a dessert of traditional Italian zepoles from Lasalle Bakery. My Uncle Ray wasn’t able to join us, but sent a beautiful and thoughtful arrangement of flowers (Thank You #3) to the “three colleens” (heroic Irish women).
The evening was filled with great stories and laughter; brought to us, as always, by our three husbands, Paul, Steve and Bob (Thank You #4, #5 and #6).
And finally, to my sisters Susan and Judy, with whom I’ve shared our birthday week for 51 years…from the bottom of my heart, Thank You (#7 and #8). Happy Birthday!
